Packaging: This is a standard Hasbro movie character action figure box. The movie logo and a couple of photos of the other toys in the line-up are on the box.
Headsculpt: Former New Kid on the Block Marky Mark looks a little bit cross-eyed. But worse than that, his head is HUGE! The face is not too big, but if you look at the side of the head, it seems that the back of MM's head just balloons. No helmet, cap, or Boonie hat could fit on this head. The scale of this head is closer to what an 18" or 1:5 scale doll would be.
Articulation: The horrible Hasbro Hall of Fame rubbery legs with the torso and arms of Action Man. The arms are good, the legs are not. The best solution is to remove Marky's head and put it on a G.I. Joe action figure or an Action Man figure.
Clothing: I like the outfit, and used it as a Desert Storm variation. The sweater and pants have zippers. The splattered paint specks are tan, so it looks like some kind of Desert outfit. The boots are from a G.I. Joe set with different paint aps, so they look good. It is an odd outfit, and having one in your Desert Storm team (with the 21st Century Scud Hunter harness for example) is a good use for what otherwise would be junk.
Gear: A handgun, which of course was never in the movie. Major Leo had some kind of laser pistol which Attar destroyed in the movie. I guess Hasbro wanted to make sure anyone that saw the movie would not buy the toy, so they packed Leo a standard G.I. Joe handgun. Leo also has a tan bag-purse included. If you put a few grenades in it, it does not look like a Barbie accessory.
Price: I paid full retail $14.99, but it was recently at $2.44 on clearance (October 2001). If the clothes and accessories had been better, it would have been a steal just for kitbashing. But it was such a poor effort by Hasbro, that the end shelf was full of these even at $2.44 each.
Overall: Until someone makes a better Marky Mark, he will continue to be a member of the Three Kings squad. I put his head on an Action Man body.
